This spring will mark the first annual Door County Half Marathon and Nicolet Bay 5K, slated for Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Peninsula State Park with pre-race activities taking place on Friday evening. Please consider sponsoring these events. We invite you to be a part of this exciting event by becoming a sponsor.
Door County Half Marathon, a new Door County organization, will work to attract at least 500 runners and their families as well as organize the weekend activities. The goal is to provide a quality race by partnering with local business sponsors, charitable organizations and volunteers to create a great weekend running experience. The beauty of Door County and Peninsula State Park, a runner-friendly course and Door County hospitality all lend to creating one of Wisconsin’s premiere running events.
Door County Half Marathon and Peninsula State Park have teamed up to create a course that is sure to attract runners! The park provides a safe running course that promises beautiful water views, shaded areas through the woods, challenging hills and always changing scenery throughout the entire half marathon (13.1 miles). Those interested in the 5K (3.1 miles) can run along Shore Road and enjoy breathtaking views of the bay.
