Transportation to the Park
Anyone driving to the park, must have a parking pass. Passes will be available at Packet Pickup on Friday and at the park entrances on race day. If you need to exit the park during the race, prior to 1:30 p.m. you must use the Ephraim/Golf Course Entrance.
Participants and spectators staying with one of our lodging sponsors, may use the Door County Half Marathon Shuttle. Passenger vans will be available transport participants and spectators to and from the park from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. More information will be available when you check in at your hotel or bed and breakfast.
Arrival Times on Race Day
Participants picking up their packets on race day, should plan to arrive by 8 a.m. Others should plan to arrive by 9 a.m. Anyone arriving after this time, may experience significant delays in getting to the parking lot and arriving at the race on time.
Medical and Emergency Information
Medical personnel will be available throughout the course and a medical tent will be located at the finish line. Northshore Medical Clinic, 3711 Hwy 42 Fish Creek, will be open on race day from 9 a.m.– 3:30 p.m. for anyone needing medical attention.
Cell Phones
Important: Your cell phone may not work in the park. Please designate a location to meet up with your family and friends after the race.
Temperatures
Door County Temperatures in early May range from lows in the mid 30’s to highs in the upper 50’s. Keep in mind it will be cooler by the lake.
Shoe Recycling
Door County Half Marathon is partnering with Going Garbage & Recycling to present the Go Run & Recycle Program. Donate your worn our running shoes to be recycled into sorbent material used to clean up oil spills. A recycling container will be located at the packet pickup and at the park.
Awards Ceremony
The Awards Ceremony will begin at 1:30 pm. in Peninsula State Park. Everyone will have the chance to win a great Door County Door Prizes and Awards will be presented to the top finishers and top age group finishers for both the half marathon and 5K.
Half Marathon
The Door County
Half Marathon will be held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. The entire
half marathon takes place on paved surfaces within Peninsula State
Park. This USTAF certified course starts and finishes near Nicolet
Beach. The course winds through the park giving runners an opportunity
to experience breathtaking views of the water, shaded areas through
the woods, challenging hills and ever changing scenery throughout
Door County’s most popular park. The course will open to traffic
at 1:30 p.m.
All finishers will receive a t-shirt, finisher’s medal as well
as food and drink at the finish line. Awards will be presented to
the top male and female runners, top male and female master runners
and the top three finishers in each age group. (Top finishers will
not be eligible for age group awards.)
Nicolet
Bay 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Nicolet Bay
5K Fun Run/Walk begins at 10:30 a.m. just after the start of the half
marathon. This race also starts near the beach and participants will
follow the course along the water on Shore Road going
around the bay past Welcker’s Point, Eagle Bluff Lighthouse
to Bluff Road and back. Walkers are welcome to participate in the
5K.
All finishers will receive a t-shirt, as well as food and drink at
the finish line. Awards will be presented to the top 3 male and female
finishers and door prizes will be given out too.
Parking
Parking passes
will be available at Packet Pickup. On race day, participants may
enter the park at either entrance. Those using the Fish Creek entrance
can follow the signs to the designated parking area near Nicolet Beach.
Others using the Ephraim entrance located near the golf course should
simply follow Shore Road to Nicolet Beach parking lot.
Anyone who needs to exit the park before the end of the half marathon,
should follow Shore Road to the east and exit the park at the Ephraim
entrance near the golf course. All other roads will be closed to traffic,
except emergency vehicles.

Timing
The Door County
Half Marathon and Nicolet Bay 5K will be timed using AMB ChipX Transponder
Timing. Results will be available after the race as well as online.
Packet
Pickup
Runners may pick
up their packets at the Ephraim Village Hall, 9966 Water Street, Hwy 42 on Friday, May 2
from 3-9 p.m. Please bring your race confirmation with you. Parking
passes for Peninsula State Park will be available as well. Packets
may also be picked up on race day from 8-9 a.m. Parking passes will
be available at the park entrances for participants picking up their
packets on race day.

Dinner
Come and enjoy
the all-you-can-eat Pasta Dinner on Friday, May 2 from 5-8 p.m. at
the Ephraim Town Hall, Hwy 42. The menu includes salad, breads, spaghetti
with meat or marinara sauce, brownies, cake and beverages. Prices
are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-12 and kids under 5 are
free.
