Run For A Cause

The Door County Half Marathon is offering runners a great opportunity to help their favorite area non-profit with each step in the 2012 run in Peninsula State Park.

Last year participants in the Door County Half Marathon's Run for A Cause program raised $13,435 for local non-profit organizations in just the second year it was offered. Organizers will make 100 registrations available to runners who commit to raising at least $250 for an area charity again in 2012.

Once runners in the half marathon or the 5k raise the $250 minimum, they'll receive a free entry for the Door County Half Marathon or the Nicolet Bay 5k. Participants are free – heck, encouraged – to raise more than the minimum. The registration deadline for the program is April 1, 2012, though organizers encourage early registration to allow ample time for fundraising and publicity for the chosen non-profit.
